Activated Carbon Filter System:

Multi-media Filter is used to reduce the suspended solids and colloidal materials in the feed water. These filters contain at least four types of filter media.

The light, coarse material is on top of the filter bed, followed by progressive less coarse material in the lower layers. This design permits the unit to function as a depth filter, removing the filterable solids throughout the depth of the filter bed.

A properly designed multimedia filter will have a flow rate of not more than 7 gpm/ft2 of surface area, and will have a particle cut off of 10 micron.
